Definition: dwelling unit (General Definition)
A "dwelling unit" contains at least one room in a residential building , residential portion of a building , or non-profit hospital staff dwelling , and is arranged, designed, used or intended for use by one or more persons living together and maintaining a common household, and which dwelling unit includes lawful cooking space and lawful sanitary facilities reserved for the occupants thereof. Where a particular regulation of this Resolution applies to dwelling units in a building that is for residences other than single- or two-family residences , such provisions shall also apply to rooming units , unless specifically stated.
