Within side and rear yards , the maximum height of the open storage of materials, where permitted, shall be 12 feet.

If you're allowed to store materials out in the open in your side or rear yard (the open space along the sides and back of your lot), you can't pile it higher than 12 feet. A hard cap on outdoor storage height — keeps stacked materials from towering over neighbors' yards.
