About this school
Leaders High School is a NYC Outward Bound school that engages students with innovative teaching and hands-on learning experiences. We support our students as they challenge themselves to step outside of their comfort zones to excel. As a graduation requirement, our students complete and present in-depth analytical papers and projects that require extensive reading, writing, and research. We promote college and career readiness by providing a full-time college counselor and internships for every student. All of our students are part of a crew, a small, tight-knit, group with an advisor providing ongoing support. Through these experiences, students learn to embody our four core values of leading, learning, contributing, and exploring.

Being part of the NY Performance Standards Consortium, as a graduation requirement, our students complete and present Performance-Based Assessment Tasks (PBATs) instead of taking Regents Exams (except ELA). See www.performanceassessment.org for detailed information.
Our full-time internship/community service coordinator places every 11th grade student in an internship based on their interests.
