Two Trees returned to the Domino Sugar site B, thirteen years after the 2014 master plan, pitching a redesign that strips the building's signature undulating balconies and adds about 100 units (700 rising to 860 units of affordable housing). Chair Kevin Riley pressed the developer on why the podium 'is coming down in place of the promised school.' Council Member Farah Louis declined to support the Ovi's Place sidewalk cafe application, telling the room that the Avenue H sidewalk near Brooklyn College is simply not wide enough to safely fit tables, chairs, and pedestrian flow at that curved, congested intersection. Applicant Pablo Ovido pressed for just two tables he said would serve the community, but Community Board 14 had echoed the same safety concerns at its August 7th hearing, which the applicant did not attend; Louis pointed him to the local BID, CB14, and stakeholders to find a feasible path forward.
